is the hunchback, a symbol of great good fortune who, unlike his antagonist—the jinx-bringer—brings prosperity and drives away the evil eye. His origins are ancient, and to this day Lo Scartellato is considered a powerful bearer of luck, wealth, and abundance, traditionally associated with the red horn (cornetto) that he always carries with him.

Here he is depicted through the work of Master Marco Ferrigno, who is credited with having brought the Neapolitan nativity tradition to the world through his workshop in Naples.
